Re-opening of Legaspi Oil Company, Inc., Davao City


On December 8, 2018, thousands of coconut farmers from different parts of Davao region gathered at the premises of Legaspi Oil Company, Inc. (LegOil) in Davao City to witness and support the re-opening of its plant, which has a production capacity of 600 metric tons per day. “With the re-opening of our Legoil-Davao plant, we will establish more copra buying stations near coconut plantations and buy copra from the farmers at a price higher than that set by our competitors in the industry” , said Mr. Aquilino Trinidad, who is the OIC-President/CEO of CIIF-OMG. “This is only consistent with our commitment to help develop the coconut industry in the country and uplift the lives of our coconut farmers” ,he added. Mr. Trinidad also revealed that CIIF OMG will intensify its effort to promote organic farming in Davao region, which will enable coconut farmers to sell their organic products at a premium price.
